We teach sewing to change lives.

D’ARTillery creates high-quality, small batch textiles to help immigrant and refugee women prosper.

D’ARTillery is a social enterprise that supports immigrant and refugee women in Metro Detroit. We help women build skills through sewing training, small-batch manufacturing, ESL, and digital literacy programs.

Immigrant and refugee women bring immense talents and rich cultural heritage, yet they often face substantial barriers to social capital and economic independence. Meanwhile, the fashion industry suffers on the backs of unfair labor and produces 92 million gallons of textile waste every year. We solve both of these problems by training the talented women in our community to sew high-quality, sustainably made textiles from our atelier in Hamtramck.
